Day 1 | Arrive in Lima
Reception at the Lima airport and transfer to your hotel. Hotel.

Day 2 | Lima
This morning or afternoon, you embark on 3 hour sightseeing tour of Lima and its important landmarks. Continue to the Larco Herrera Museum. Continue to the Larco Herrera Museum to view the world's largest private collection of pre-Colombian art with a unique assortment of erotic pottery, genuine and rich jewels in gold, silver and semi-precious stones. Day 3 | Lima to Arequipa
Transfer to the Lima airport for your flight to Arequipa, the "White City". Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the morning to acclimatize. Afternoon guided tour of the city featuring the Convent of Santa Catalina, a fascinating relic of colonial times which remained closed to the public for almost 400 years. Hotel. (B)

Day 4 | Arequipa to Colca Canyon
Drive to the Colca Valley, passing through the Pampa Cañahuas at the Aguada Blanca National Reserve. The valley has beautiful pre-Columbian terraces still farmed by native Collaguas. Box lunch. Overnight in a nearby lodge. Hotel. (B, L)

Day 5 | Colca Canyon to Puno
Early departure to the "Condor’s Cross" observation point, from where the great Andean bird may be spotted. Enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the Colca Canyon, the deepest canyon in the world. Drive to Puno with a stop at the Sillustani Ruins en-route. At this site you will explore the ancient cemetery of Sillustani to see cylindrical stone tombs built by pre-Incas who inhabited this region. Hotel. (B)

Day 6 | Full day Taquille and Uros Islands
Morning departure for a full day tour of Taquille Island. This remote island is a remarkable community where Quechua, the language of the Incas, is still kept alive by the islanders. On the way back stop at the floating reed islands of the Uros. Lunch is included. Hotel. (B, L)

Day 7 | Puno to Cusco
Transfer to the bus station in Puno for a full day journey to Cusco aboard a comfortable sightseeing bus. There will be stops along the way. Late afternoon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Hotel. Note: optional upgrade to the Andean Explorer train. (B, L)

Day 8 | Cusco
Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of Cusco and its nearby ruins including, the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman and Puca Pucara, the amphitheatre of Kenko, and the Inca baths of Tambo Machay. Hotel. (B)

Day 9 | Full day Sacred Valley: Pisac and Ollantaytambo
Full-day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Stroll and bargain at the Pisac market. After lunch at a country-side restaurant, drive to Ollantaytambo to admire the magnificent Inca fortress. Overnight in the Sacred Valley. Hotel (B, L)

Day 10 | Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu
Early transfer to the station for a 3-hour train ride to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, guided tour of the citadel, an awe-inspiring site discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. Lunch at the local restaurant and afternoon free to explore the ruins or climb Huayna Picchu. Hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 11 | Machu Picchu to Cusco
Wake up early this morning to watch the sunrise at Machu Picchu. At 3:00 PM, return to Cusco by train. You are met at the train station and transferred to your hotel. Hotel. (B)

Day 12 | Cusco to Lima
Morning transfer to the Cusco airport for the flight to Lima. On arrival in Lima, you will have the option to wait at the airport for your departing international flight or we can arrange some additional sightseeing for you at additional cost to the standard program.

Overnight flight to North America. (B)

Day 13 | Arrive Home
